I love my slow cooker, all year round. In the summer I take that treasured appliance right outside with us and tempt the whole neighborhood. Here’s a take on chili that I love to make when we’re camping. All the flavors can mix and mingle while we play lawn darts and then we can enjoy a bowl around the campfire.
You can easily spice this up with some of your favorite chili peppers, but we’re a mild family. We all have different things we like to top our chili with, though: avocado, sour cream, and/or shredded cheese. If you want to use it as a topping for tortilla chips, baked sweet or white potatoes, or hot dogs, feel free to leave the stew meat out. Make your bacon chili your own and enjoy!
